Two-for-Toes Sock Yarn
Two skeins in one: a main colorway,
and a coordinating color for cuff, heel, toes, or your own
creative design! Two-for-Toes Sock Yarn originates from wool shorn from Massachusetts
sheep, spun in a small mill in central Massachusetts, and hand-dyed by
this Massachusetts shepherd! 85% wool, and 15% nylon, kettle-dyed
in
luscious colors.
And... to get you started on this adventure, knit this yarn up
with the Sojourner Socks pattern designed exclusively- and ingeniously- by Melissa
Morgan-Oakes. Melissa's first book, 2-at-a-Time Socks, was recently released.
At right, my sheep are admiring a pair of Two-forToes socks
knit up in the Sunset in Cameron Parish colorway with Melissa's
pattern by Mary Alice Baker. These socks fit my size 8.5 foot perfectly, and there
was plenty of the main colorway leftover to increase the length if
desired.
Two-for-Toes
sock yarn was created with the fleeces of Massachusetts sheep,
including my own,
and processed in a small spinnery in Massachusetts. By purchasing these yarns you are supporting the local sheep industry:
shepherds, suppliers of feed, shearers, and fiber processors.
These yarns are
available at:
the fiber fairs that I attend
my Etsy Shop
The
Wool and Dye Works in Florence (Northampton MA)
Northampton Wools in Northampton MA
Metaphor Yarns in Shelburne Falls, MA
and from this site or at my studio by special
arrangment.
