For a fiber artist, discovering Angelina is like discovering chocolate. It's fun, it's an adventure, and the results can be a big WOW. Here's the problem: it is very difficult to capture the full effect of Angelina on film. If you haven't seen it in person you can't really appreciate its full visual effect. If you're new to this fiber take a look at these photos before scrolling down to the chart of available colors.

Here are a few suggestions for incorporating Angelina into your next project:

-A little Angelina goes a L-O-N-G way! That's why I sell it in one quarter ounce packages. Small amounts carded in with your wool before handspinning can add a little zip to your yarn. Just a little of it peeking out here and there in surface design is very effective; Angelina is prettiest when it's speaking in a whisper, not a shout.

-Some Angelina can be bonded using heat; some cannot. I've indicated in the chart below which is which.

-Bondable Angelina will bond to itself but not to other fibers.

-Non-bondable Angelina can be trapped between layers of bondable Angelina.

Here Are The Goods

In the chart below I've provided photos that are very close to the actual appearance of the particular color as well as a detailed description of its appearance and its bondable/non-bondable status. You'll notice that with quite a there are several cases where I disagree with the manufacturer's choice of color designation. Starting with my favorite color, I've grouped similar colors together so that you can make comparisons easily. Please consider fiber color and sparkle color when making your choice; I'd be glad to offer help in choosing if asked. If you'd like to get a closer look at any color, please click on it.

Calypso Blue, Fluo-ridescent Hot Fix If I were naming this fiber I'd call it Periwinkle. The underlying fiber is periwinkle, as are the sparkles. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Opal Sparkle, Iridescent Hot Fix The underlying fiber is a muted blue and the sparkles are multi-colored... like a fine opal! $2.25/ quarter ounce
Turquoise Flash, Metallic Not heat-bondable Turquoise fiber with turquoise sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Butterfly Blue Flash, Iridescent Hot Fix I see the underlying fiber as smoky blue/purple and the sparkles as periwinkle and green. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Purple Flash, Iridescent Hot Fix Smoky fiber, purple sparkle $2.25/ quarter ounce
Fuschia Flash, Metallic Not heat-bondable Intense fuschia fiber and sparkle $2,25/quarter ounce

Desert Sunset Sparkle, Iridescent Hot Fix This just isn't a sunset; it's highly-saturated bluesy-pink fiber with periwinkle sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Cotton Candy, Fluo-ridescent Hot Fix Yup, intensely-pink cotton candy with cotton candy sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Raspberry Sparkle, Iridescent Hot Fix Not at all raspberry; rather, a peachy-pink fiber with yellow/green sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Watermelon, Fluo-ridescent Hot Fix Wrong again; there's lots of peach-orange in the fiber and the sparkle is peach and yellow. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Rose Gold Flash, Metallic Non heat-bondable This is a little coppery if you're looking for gold. It has coppery sparkle too. If you're looking for gold, check out Brass Flash below. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Citronella, Fluo-ridescent Hot Fix The photo has a little bit more green than there actually is in the fiber; the fiber is clear, vibrant yellow with gold/yellow sparkle. Don't forget, you can blend it with another color to tone it down if you'd like! $2.25/quarter ounce
Brass Flash, Metallic Non heat-bondable This is gold fiber with gold sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
Mint Sparkle, Iridescent Hot Fix Mint fiber with green and yellow sparkle. $2.25/ quarter ounce
